Joaquín Fernández Cara

He was born in Granada; He studied at the ALONSO CANO Faculty of Fine Arts -1996, Painting and Environmental Design and practicing Technical Architect since 1989. Combining both professions. He currently resides in Tenerife. Painter with broad expressive language, from figurative to abstract.
He began using the watercolor technique vocationally and self-taught in 1973, although it was the Granada critic and painter D. Marino Antequera who contributed to him, in numerous talks and the good use of knowledge of art, he exhibited for the first time in 1981, in Granada at the Bibataubin Palace, with 32 works, all sold.
Since then he has held numerous individual and group exhibitions in different capitals of Spain and Europe. – GRANADA Galería Al-Ándalus and Ceferino Navarro. MADRID Geler and Duran Gallery. BARCELONA, Villa del Arte Gallery MALAGA, Benedito SEVILLA Gallery, Sorolla Gallery. Collectives and works.- In PARIS, FRANKFUR, FLORENCE, VENICE, LONDON, SAINT PETERSBURG, MOSCOW.
In May 2004 and 2023 he presented the exhibition, ”Landscapes of Water and Light”, at the Circle of Friendship, in S.C. of TENERIFE, with 34 and 42 works respectively.
Full member and co-founder of the Andalusian Watercolor Artists’ Association, since its founding in 1995, he also participated in various national competitions and group exhibitions of the Association.
