Cristian Diaconescu
An incursion into the universe of the artist Cristian Diaconescu is a unique experience in the vast world of ideas, in the horizons of thought. Perhaps this rare quality is the result of a hypersensitivity that the artist received as a gift from God. Suffering from Tourette syndrome, a neurological disorder characterized by vocal and muscle tics that involve the unexpected repetition of certain movements or sounds, the artist is beneficially influenced in his art. He studied painting in the class of Corneliu Lonescu (1938-2011), but his spiritual mentor was the painter Bacău Llie Boca (b. 1937). Ion Tuculescu (1910-1962) is also the closest. For the artist, reality is just a pretext, a starting point towards a world that rewards the gaze and the soul, the creation of Cristian Diaconescu as that particular genius who, through pictorial formulas of exceptional subtlety, dissolves real matter in tension.
